Does your home have underfloor insulation? Incredibly, more than 90% of homes are under-insulated, which means you could be losing 20% of your heat right out from underneath you. Not only does this increase your energy bills, but it can also reduce your comfort.
Jesse was really professional and thorough with his inspection. He had plenty of knowledge which he shared clearly with me which is nice when you’re dealing with a product you’re not well educated on. He gave me a great understanding of what was needed and the best part is...the difference is massive! It’s like a new home. I highly recommend his service. Thanks again.
The primary purpose of underfloor insulation is simple: to keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer. Insulation does this by creating barriers between the inside of your home and airflow beneath the building. Without underfloor insulation, the cold air beneath your sub-floor can leak up through the timber and into your home. During winter, this makes it either cold and uncomfortable or incredibly hard to heat. This, combined with possible air leakage, creates a heat sink beneath your home, drawing the heat out from below.
At J.Gorman Insulation, Jesse always recommends an R2.5 HD floor batts for sub-floors. This highly-flexible batt is friction-fitted and cut to suit. He then securely fastens the insulation with Strapping to guarantee they remain in place for the building’s life.
